Install it
One administrator, once per site. Installing makes the app available to your projects — it does not switch anything on in any of them.
What you need
- Jira Cloud. This is an Atlassian Forge app: it runs on Atlassian's own infrastructure, and there is no Server or Data Center build of it.
- A Jira administrator. Installing an app is a site-level action, so it is not something a project administrator can do on their own.
- Nothing else. There is no account to create with us, no API token to paste, and no external service to connect. The app has no server and no database of its own — everything it stores lives in Atlassian's storage.
Install it
It is on the Atlassian Marketplace. Install it from its listing. Jira's own Apps menu searches the same Marketplace, so an administrator can do it without leaving Jira.
It is installed once for the whole site, not once per project.
What Jira asks you to approve
Before it installs, Jira shows the permissions the app is asking for and waits for the administrator to consent. There are five. Each one is listed with the reason it is needed in the privacy policy, and the short version is that the app reads the project metadata the rule editor offers you, creates the issues your rules are for, writes one project property to record that a project is enrolled, and reads who the caller is so it can decide whether they may schedule.
It consumes no Jira Automation quota. The scheduling is the app's own. It never creates or runs a Jira Automation rule, so nothing it does is counted against your site's automation limit.
Installing switches nothing on
After it installs, nothing appears in any project and no rules run. That is deliberate: a project only gets scheduled issues once an administrator turns the app on for that project, which takes about a minute and is the next page.
So installing it is safe to do ahead of deciding where to use it.
How it is licensed
It is licensed and billed through Atlassian along with the rest of your Atlassian subscription — there is no separate payment to us, no account to create and no licence key to enter.
- Free for up to 10 users. Not a trial and not a cut-down edition: a site of ten users or fewer pays nothing, with the whole app.
- $5.50 per user per year above that, on the 11–100 user tier — $0.55 per user per month if you bill monthly. The larger tiers cost less per user.
The listing shows the exact price for your own site's user tier before you install, and Atlassian handles the billing, the trial and the cancellation, not us.
Turning it off, and removing it
These are different, and the difference matters:
- Turning a project off is a pause. Its rules, their settings and their run history all survive, and switching the project back on resumes them. This is the reversible one — the project settings page says so in both directions.
- Uninstalling the app is not. It removes the app's stored data along with the installation, per Atlassian's own app-data lifecycle. The privacy policy states what that covers.
If a rule is firing when you did not expect it to, the run history usually says why before uninstalling becomes the question — start there.
